An established and rapidly expanding software group is seeking a Head of M&A to lead its acquisition strategy in France. As a senior member of the European M&A team, you’ll take full ownership of the deal lifecycle, from early-stage evaluation through to post-closing integration, while helping to shape and scale the firm’s presence in France.
This is a front-line leadership role ideal for a proven M&A professional with a strong track record of executing buy-side transactions in the software and technology sector, now looking to take on a more strategic position with high visibility and impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead multiple software acquisitions per year from LOI to close.
- Meet with founders and management teams to assess strategic fit and communicate the company’s long-term value proposition.
- Oversee due diligence, valuation modelling, and negotiation of key deal terms.
- Coordinate internal teams and external advisors (legal, accounting, technical) to ensure smooth execution.
- Manage light-touch post-acquisition integrations, implementing best practices to drive performance and growth.
- Build and develop an M&A team to support expansion within your vertical.
- Maintain relationships with intermediaries, brokers, and bankers to enhance deal flow.
Requirements
- Significant experience leading end-to-end M&A processes within the software or technology sector, ideally in France.
- Strong commercial acumen and the ability to evaluate key business risks and opportunities quickly.
- Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and build high-performing teams.
- Financial literacy and comfort presenting to executive and board-level audiences.
- Business-level fluency in both English and French.
- Professional qualifications (CA/CPA/MBA) are advantageous.
- Willingness to be based in Paris in a hybrid capacity (2–3+ days per week).
This is a rare opportunity to take the lead in establishing and growing the French M&A function for one of the most active software acquirers globally.
