With over 200 employees, the business is currently advancing both its electric training aircraft and its revolutionary 19‑seat hybrid‑electric regional aircraft programme, helping shape the future of sustainable aviation.
As the company continues to grow, they are looking for a Head of Electrical Systems to lead the development of aircraft electrical architecture across multiple programmes.
The Role
This is a senior technical leadership position responsible for the design, development, integration and certification of aircraft electrical systems.
You will lead the Electrical Engineering function, overseeing electrical architecture, power distribution, EWIS development, installation design and certification activities, while helping build and develop the wider team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the Electrical Engineering department
- Own aircraft electrical system design including electrical load analysis (ELA)
- Define electrical architectures balancing performance, weight, safety and certification requirements
- Work closely with Systems, Structures, Manufacturing and Certification teams
- Support certification activities and regulatory compliance
- Establish engineering processes, standards and best practices
- Support team growth and department development
About You
- Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Aerospace Engineering or similar
- 10+ years' experience within aerospace electrical systems engineering
- Strong knowledge of electrical architecture
- Functional & safety analysis
- Experience leading engineering teams and complex development programmes
- Strong understanding of system development, configuration management and certification processes
- Comfortable operating within innovative, fast‑paced engineering environments
- Electric or hybrid‑electric propulsion systems
- Electrical design and installation tools
- Aircraft power management and distribution systems
