Head of Group Aviation Insurance Lines (f/m)
Location: Blagnac, France.
You will be part of an integrated Corporate Finance function, acting as a crucial strategic partner responsible for defining and executing the Group’s comprehensive insurance strategy related to aviation. You will lead a high‑performing team of expert managers, with a core mission to proactively protect all Airbus assets, liabilities, employees, and pioneering programs across Commercial Aircraft, Helicopters, and Defence & Space through optimal risk transfer, legal contract negotiation, and robust claims management.
Responsibilities
- Lead and define the Group's entire global insurance strategy and placement across all aerospace lines in direct relationships with insurers and supported by international brokers.
- Review and enforce the Airbus Insurance Policy within all critical Group contracts (Purchase Agreements, Supply Chain), requiring transnational and multifunctional influence for alignment.
- Manage and optimise the financial risk exposure for all commercial aircraft activities, including risk modelling, complex claims handling, and controlling premium flow.
- Serve as the ultimate technical expert and decision‑maker on complex, unprecedented issues linked to your activity.
- Drive, select, contract, and interact with external insurance brokers, insurers, experts, lawyers.
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of specialist managers, fostering technical excellence, continuous improvement, and strategic business partnering.
- Act with integrity and awareness of any potential compliance risks, as the foundation for the Company’s success, reputation and sustainable growth.
Qualifications
- Minimum 15 years of experience in corporate/brokerage/insurer roles with a strong focus on Aviation or Aerospace Insurance and corporate Risk Management.
- Deep expertise in global insurance markets (placement, renewal, claims).
- Strong legal and contractual risk management background, highly proficient in negotiating indemnity and insurance clauses.
- Knowledge of reinsurance captive management; strategic involvement is a plus.
- Proven ability to define and drive a global strategy while acting as a trusted, accountable decision‑maker in complex, high‑stakes situations.
- Capacity to navigate, simplify, and solve complex, unprecedented problems and contractual disputes in a fast‑paced, international context.
- Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills to successfully lead, motivate a team, and influence transnational executive stakeholders.
- Negotiation‑level English is mandatory.
