Handling Qualities Engineer

Responsibilities

• Sizing of control surfaces and validation of handling qualities and stability requirements.
• Definition of the flight envelope (minimum speeds, angle‑of‑attack protection elements) in close collaboration with cockpit systems and operational teams.
• Evaluation of aircraft behavior in the event of system failures.
• Support feasibility phases during the preparation of future program developments.
• Contribute to the development of new aircraft, incremental developments and R&T.
• Prepare dossiers for certification and maintain fleet airworthiness.
• Contribute to flight safety assessment and initiatives to upgrade flight safety standards.
• Provide feedback and support skill development within the team and interfaces (Flight Physics, Flight & Lab Tests, Propulsion, Product Safety, etc.).

Qualifications

• Degree in aeronautical engineering (or equivalent).
• Knowledge of flight mechanics, flight dynamics, aerodynamics or performance.
• Experience with flight simulation tools: MATLAB, Simulink, etc.
• Knowledge of automatic control systems and aircraft systems is a plus.
• Interest in digitalization and big‑data analysis.
• Advanced level proficiency in both English and French.
