Group Legal Counsel

This opportunity sits within a dedicated Compliance function, reflecting the importance of compliance across our business and the continued strengthening of our global compliance framework. Reporting directly to the Group Compliance Director, you will play a key role in supporting and driving Nexans’ compliance agenda worldwide.
You will work closely with Business Group and Regional General Counsels & Compliance teams across multiple geographies, partnering with operational stakeholders in a dynamic international environment.
Getting a Flying Start
As Legal Counsel - Compliance, you will contribute to the development, deployment, and continuous improvement of Nexans’ global compliance program, with a focus on:
- Trade & sanctions;
- Antitrust & competition law;
- Anti-bribery & corruption.
This is a highly visible role combining legal expertise, project coordination, business partnering, and compliance program management. You will support operational teams, help strengthen compliance culture across the organization, and contribute to key strategic initiatives and controls.
You will also play an active role in delivering impactful compliance communications, awareness campaigns, and training initiatives such as Compliance Week.
How You Make an Impact
- Support the deployment and continuous enhancement of Nexans’ global compliance program across anti-bribery & corruption, competition law, and trade & sanctions areas.
- Coordinate and contribute to compliance training sessions, awareness initiatives, and key events including Compliance Week.
- Develop, implement, and monitor compliance controls, processes, and governance tools.
- Support Business Groups and operational teams on compliance-related matters and day-to-day advisory topics.
- Contribute to third-party due diligence processes, including agents, distributors, and compliance assessments.
- Collaborate closely with Group, Regional, and Business Group Legal & Compliance teams to ensure consistency and effective deployment of compliance initiatives globally.
Your Starting Points
- Around 8 years of experience in compliance, legal, or regulatory matters within an international environment.
- Strong interest and exposure to compliance topics such as anti-corruption, competition law, export control, or trade sanctions.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Business-oriented mindset with strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Fluent French and strong English language skills are required; an additional language would be a plus.
- Curious, rigorous, collaborative, and motivated to work on international compliance topics within a global industrial organisation.
