Graduate Imaging Geophysicist - CDI permanent
Job Summary
This entry-level role is designed for physicists, geophysicists, or mathematicians who want to develop their scientific skills in a commercial environment that has real-world impact. You will work with imaging specialists who process large volumes of seismic data to create high‑resolution 3D subsurface images and models for the energy industry.
About the team
The team is a diverse, dynamic group of nearly a hundred geophysicists, researchers, and operations staff based in France, with close collaboration with colleagues in the UK, Singapore, Brazil, and the US. We use the latest signal‑processing, modelling, and imaging techniques and the world’s most advanced compute facilities to build high‑resolution 3D images of subsurface structures, as well as quantitative rock‑property models that help clients make informed decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and analyze seismic data to produce accurate 3D subsurface images.
- Test and optimize workflows to improve imaging accuracy, computational performance, and data quality.
- Build and maintain long-term client relationships through service excellence.
- Manage complex technical projects with multiple short‑ and long‑term deadlines.
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with team members and clients.
- Develop cultural awareness through training and interaction with our globally diverse clients and teams.
- Advance leadership and management skills to contribute to the development of others, and publish papers and present at industry conferences.
Qualifications
- Fresh graduates with a Master’s or PhD in Physics, Geophysics, or Mathematics, with 0‑2 years of professional experience.
- Analytical approach to problem solving.
- Technical knowledge in applied mathematics or physics.
- Enthusiastic attitude toward learning and passion for the subject.
- Technical agility to adapt existing knowledge to a new field.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly.
- No prior knowledge of geophysics or geology is required.
