As the Global Technology Specialist , you will be at the forefront of shaping the future of Royal Canin by leading the introduction of innovative raw materials, processes, and products across a dynamic international network of over 15 manufacturing sites. You will drive Royal Canin’s R&D process and product leadership, evaluating and mitigating industrialization risks to ensure the seamless rollout of groundbreaking innovations. You will define and develop robust R&D specifications for petfood technology, covering raw material processing, product quality, process flow, and equipment parameter settings to support ongoing innovation and high-quality production.
What profile we are looking for
- B.S. or M.S. in a relevant technical or scientific discipline such as Food Science/Technology, Biological, Chemical, Engineering sciences
- Demonstrated >5 years of industry experience in food technology development, process & product scale-up and/or implementation as R&D Engineer or Quality & Food Safety Engineer
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification is a plus
- Experience working in a multicultural and international environment
Key responsibilities
- Lead the Global Industrialization of new petfood products: take ownership of the industrialization process for petfood products within Royal Canin’s innovation pipeline; manage scale-up activities across more than 15 manufacturing sites worldwide; consolidate feedback from sites to refine process and product specifications; conduct risk assessments during industrialization to mitigate challenges; define and validate final specifications to ensure robust, reproducible production; oversee first production runs with cross-functional teams and manage industrialization risks.
- Develop, define and maintain R&D specifications for petfood products: define, write, and update process and product specifications including raw material processing, product quality attributes, process flows and equipment parameter settings; ensure specifications cover current standards and future upgrades to support ongoing innovation and improve quality.
- Define process and product validation requirements for new equipment or new production lines: plan resources and timing, develop training, ensure validation protocols are up to date, support project handovers, and continuously improve validation protocols.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration and manage knowledge related to product and process: collaborate with central R&D and regional engineers to align industrialization strategies; facilitate knowledge sharing and training; maintain a knowledge management system documenting specifications and best practices.
- Apply problem solving and Statistical Process Control (SPC): use structured problem-solving methodologies and SPC tools to monitor, analyze, and optimize manufacturing processes.
