Scope & Accountability
Direct P&L Ownership
- Amazon Europe – Seller (3P): Strategy, catalog management, pricing, FBA deployment and optimization
- Amazon Europe – Vendor (France, UK, Germany, Italy, Spain): Full operational and commercial responsibility
- Amazon Advertising Europe: Budget ownership, campaign architecture, and performance optimization
- European Marketplaces: Bol.com, Zalando, and future platform expansion
Global Coordination
- Amazon US: Strategic alignment, playbook sharing, consolidated reporting with US digital leadership
- Emerging Markets (India, Middle East, Japan): Support local teams in Amazon expansion initiatives
- Global Standards: Define and enforce Amazon operating models, content standards, and KPI frameworks
Team Management
- Direct leadership: 2–3 Amazon/Marketplace specialists in Europe
- Indirect coordination: US Amazon teams, agency partners, and cross-functional contributors
- Vendor & agency oversight: Performance accountability and governance
Key Responsibilities
Commercial & Operations
- Full ownership of Amazon Europe P&L (revenue, margin, advertising efficiency, chargebacks)
- Lead annual Joint Business Plan (JBP) negotiations with Amazon retail teams across Europe and support local negotiations
- Act as the guardian of JBP standards and execution excellence
- Oversee Vendor Central operations: purchase orders, availability, forecasting, WOC optimization
- Define Seller Central strategy: assortment, pricing architecture, FBA vs. MFN optimization
- Build and execute promotional calendars aligned with Amazon retail events and brand priorities
- Drive content excellence across all marketplaces (A+ Content, Brand Stores, PDP optimization)
FBA & Supply Chain
- Lead FBA Europe rollout: market prioritization, SKU selection, cost‑benefit analysis
- Coordinate inbound logistics, inventory placement, and storage cost optimization
- Monitor and improve FBA KPIs: IPI score, stranded inventory, reimbursement recovery
Marketplace Expansion
- Launch and scale new marketplaces (Bol.com, Zalando, additional platforms)
- Define marketplace selection criteria (market potential, complexity, margin profile)
- Establish and manage marketplace partners and technical integrators
Governance, Data & KPIs
- Design and implement a global Amazon governance framework
- Build and maintain performance dashboards (Power BI, SP‑API integrations)
- Establish weekly and monthly KPI cadences covering sell‑through, availability, Buy Box, conversion, ads, and FBA
- Implement early‑warning systems for stock‑outs, pricing issues, and demand capture gaps
- Lead monthly performance reviews with regional teams and executive stakeholders
- Drive root cause analysis, documentation, and global knowledge sharing
Advertising & Traffic
- Define and execute Amazon Ads strategy (Sponsored Products, Brands, Display, DSP)
- Manage advertising budgets across markets and categories
- Optimize campaign structures, keyword strategies, and bid management
- Challenge and manage agencies with clear performance accountability
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Supply Chain on forecasting, lead times, and fulfillment strategy
- Work closely with Product and PIM teams to ensure Amazon‑ready content and data quality
- Collaborate with Finance on margin analysis, profitability tracking, and chargeback management
- Support Customer Service on Amazon SLAs and compliance
Profile Characteristics
- 5–8 years of hands‑on Amazon experience (Vendor Central & Seller Central)
- Strong Amazon Advertising expertise (setup, optimization, budget ownership)
- Deep experience with FBA, including Pan‑European logistics
- Demonstrated success in JBP negotiations with Amazon retail teams
- Experience with Amazon APIs (SP‑API) and BI tools (Power BI or equivalent)
- Multi‑country Amazon management across at least three European marketplaces
- Experience launching and scaling additional marketplaces (Bol.com, Zalando, or similar)
- Strong commercial mindset: margin management, promotions, negotiation
- Background in consumer goods and promotional/seasonal environments preferred
- Amazon geek: Passionate, constantly up to date with platform changes and best practices
- Commercially driven: Balances technical mastery with profitability and growth
- People‑oriented leader: Builds trust and accountability across teams and partners
- Operationally rigorous: Comfortable diving deep into data, processes, and execution
- Results‑focused: Accountable for KPIs and outcomes
