Role Overview:
Jacques Marie Mage is looking for a hands-on and solution-oriented General Accountant to support our growing operations across France, the UK, and Italy. Based in Paris, this role requires someone who can seamlessly work with different accounting standards (IFRS, French/UK/Italian GAAPS) and collaborate with internal and external parties (US Headquarters and local CPAs).
Your responsibilities are – but are not limited to:
Key Responsibilities:
General Accounting:Process all financial documents (invoices/POs/expenses/bank statements/account statements)
Enter supplier invoices and bank entries
Preparation of suppliers payments
Bank reconciliations and account matching
Control of expenses (Brex)
Analyze accounts, preparing supplier and customer aging reports
Preparation of monthly closing (all cut-off entries)
Preparation and reconciliation of all Intercompany invoices and operations
Collaboration with local CPA in foreign subsidiaries to ensure accounting is in line with UK, and Italian regulations.
Monitoring of Inventory in collaboration with Logistics
Other tasks related to accounting management
Preparation of all periodic tax declarations for France (VAT, CVAE, CIT…)
Preliminary work for annual CIT return and Financial Statements preparation
Punctual assistance to the Finance Manager for ad hoc reports/analysis
Various projects related to improvement of daily finance & accounting operations and process harmonization across Europe
Key Requirements:
5+ years of experience in general accounting and tax.
Experience working in the luxury retail or lifestyle brand sector.
Understanding of accounting compliance & accounting standards across France, the UK, and Italy.
Strong organizational and communication skills, with a hands-on mindset.
Fluency in English and French.
Resourceful, proactive, and able to work independently within a matrixed organization.
