General Accountant

Responsibilities

• Actively participate in monthly and annual closings
• Calculate provisions (e.g., accrued expenses (FNP), prepaid charges (CCA), etc.)
• Prepare reconciliations and substantiation for balance sheet accounts
• Perform bank reconciliations
• Prepare and file tax returns in compliance with deadlines: VAT (TVA), INTRASTAT / DEB / DES, etc.
• Ensure account reconciliation and justification of balances
• Ensure compliance with tax and regulatory obligations
• Maintain the fixed assets register
• Manage additions, disposals and sales of assets
• Calculate depreciation expenses
• Reconcile fixed assets with the general ledger
• Contribute to weekly cash reporting
• Analyze cash flows and escalate any discrepancies
• Prepare weekly supplier payment runs
• Verify approvals before payment execution
• Monitor the supplier aged trial balance
• Act as the main point of contact for external auditors during audits
• Liaise with banks and tax authorities on ad-hoc matters
• Participate in optimizing accounting tools and processes
• Identify opportunities for improvement to increase efficiency and strengthen operational reliability

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting / Finance (BTS CG, DCG, DSCG, Master CCA or equivalent)
• Minimum 3–5 years' experience in general accounting, ideally gained in a corporate environment, in an SME/ETI/scale-up or in an accounting firm
• Strong command of an accounting ERP (knowledge of SAP ByDesign is a plus)
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, data analysis)
• Good knowledge of French accounting standards (Plan Comptable Général - PCG) and common tax obligations
• You are rigorous, organized and dependable
