DRAMA STUDIOS is an independent game studio based in Rennes, France. We focus on creating immersive, gameplay driven experiences through close collaboration between design, art and technology.

DRAMA STUDIOS is currently developing UNRECORD, a narrative open world tactical FPS built with Unreal Engine 5. UNRECORD aims to deliver a highly immersive experience through realism, systemic gameplay and a strong narrative approach. The project sits at an AA ambition level, combining creative freedom with solid production pipelines and technical rigor. Our goal is to craft believable worlds, meaningful player interactions and gameplay systems that feel grounded, intense and coherent.

• Freelance Rennes (35)Position Duties

This mission focuses on designing a cohesive controller and keyboard input icon system for a realistic Unreal Engine project. You create scalable, consistent in game UI icons ensuring clarity, readability and seamless gameplay integration. The work emphasizes system oriented design with strong attention to consistency across all input types and use cases.

Responsibilities

Design a complete set of controller and keyboard input icons (including extended keys and numpad)

Define a consistent visual language across all input types

Ensure icon readability at various in game sizes and contexts

Establish clear sizing, spacing and grid rules for icon consistency

Deliver production ready assets for engine integration (vector and export formats)

Collaborate with the team to align icons with overall UI and Art direction

Candidate Profile

Requirements

Proven experience in game UI design (not web or app UI)

Strong portfolio showcasing icon systems or HUD elements

Solid understanding of in game constraints (readability, scale, contrast)

Ability to design consistent and scalable visual systems

Experience working with Unreal Engine pipelines

Familiarity with controller standards (Xbox and Play

Station layouts)

Experience on production or shipped game projects
