The Epoch Times is seeking seasoned Freelance Entertainment Reporters to craft and curate original celebrity and entertainment content for our website, TheEpochTimes.com. You will identify compelling newsworthy stories and generate exclusive reporting from a variety of reliable sources. At The Epoch Times, our primary goal is to deliver accurate information while upholding traditional American values. Therefore, our entertainment news content should reflect and honor these values. "Truth and Tradition" serves as our guiding light.

Duties

• Identify, pitch, write, and refine entertainment and celebrity articles that drive traffic to our website.
• Actively seek out primary sources and conduct high-profile celebrity interviews to enrich our content (preferred but not required).
• Conceptualize and produce original entertainment features, leveraging insights from a diverse range of reliable sources.
• Conduct thorough fact-checking, craft SEO-friendly headlines, and choose engaging images.
• Incorporate feedback from our editorial team and exhibit a growth mindset.

Job Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in writing content for print or the web with a focus on pop culture, celebrity, and entertainment news.
• Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment and work under pressure in a fast-paced newsroom environment.
• Familiarity with entertainment and celebrity landscape.
• Solid news judgment and excellent journalism ethics.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

Skills

• Write clearly and concisely.
• Develop engaging in-depth articles.
• Perform under tight deadlines.
• Efficiency and productivity.
• Working knowledge of Photoshop, photo editing, and copy-editing skills and thorough knowledge of AP Style.
