Fraud Lead

We operate as an agent of a licensed BaaS provider — meaning we own our product and customer relationships while navigating a multi-layer operational model.
About the role
Fraud is one of the most business-critical functions at BLING. We've already built strong foundations but as we continue to scale, so do the risks. We're looking for someone to strengthen and evolve our fraud framework and help take it to the next level.
This is a high-ownership, hands-on role, reporting directly to the Head of Risks and working cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Compliance, Customer Success, and external partners. You will be the primary owner of fraud risk at BLING, with direct responsibility for fraud performance and control effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities
Fraud Strategy & Governance
- Define and maintain the fraud risk strategy across onboarding, transactions, and the full account lifecycle.
- Develop and maintain fraud procedures, ensuring they remain clear and effective
- Identify emerging fraud threats and translate them into practical and scalable controls.
- Improve pre-KYC blocking rules and security controls.
- Ensure the right balance between strong fraud prevention and a seamless customer experience.
- Own and continuously improve the fraud detection framework (rules-based alerts, manual review processes).
- Backtest detection logic using historical data to improve performance.
- Investigate and report to our BaaS partner fraud cases.
- Oversee fraud-related customer interactions with the Customer Support team.
Data Analysis & Performance Monitoring
- Analyze fraud cases to identify patterns and continuously improve controls.
- Track key fraud KPIs and provide regular, actionable reporting to leadership.
Partner & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Act as the primary point of contact for fraud-related matters with internal teams and external partners.
- Challenge decisions and push for process improvements.
- Collaborate with Product and Engineering to embed fraud controls into new features.
- Train Customer Success teams on fraud detection signals and escalation procedures.
Your required skills
- 4+ years of experience in Fraud or Financial Crime roles in a Neobank.
- Strong knowledge of fraud typologies, transaction monitoring and fraud detection methodologies.
- Knowledge of French AML/CFT obligations and experience in regulated environments.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret fraud data.
- Experience designing operational workflows and fraud rules.
- Ability to operate autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
- Good written and verbal English & French communication skills.
