Shop Location – Charlotte, NC 28227
Work Schedule – Monday to Friday, 1st Shift
Base Salary – $72,000 per year plus quarterly bonus incentive
Summary
The Supervisor, Maintenance Services assists the Manager, Maintenance Services or Senior Manager, Maintenance Services I or II to manage the operations and personnel for a shift at a particular location. The Supervisor may have supervisory duties for up to 10 technicians, ensuring business objectives, labor requirements, and customer needs are met while balancing financial, operating, quality, safety and asset targets. The position is responsible for managing location performance against metrics, and may serve as a development role to prepare for the Manager, Maintenance Services position.
Essential Functions

Workflow Management:
Responsible for work analysis, planning, scheduling, and assignment of work to technicians, productivity tracking and optimization, shift meetings, and RO review and approval. Ensures warranty policies and procedures are executed and communicates with customers to assign work appropriately. Conducts yard checks, site visits, and customer engagement to ensure proper scheduling and prioritization.

Labor Management:
Provides management, training and development for all assigned personnel. Responsible for performance management of all assigned personnel.

Customer Management:
Manages customer relationships, issue resolutions, satisfaction and retention, and ensures vehicle uptime. Handles customer communication protocol regarding PM scheduling, follow‑up, breakdowns and vehicle status updates, and conducts customer visits as needed.

Financial Management:
Controls maintenance operations budget and location P&L to meet financial objectives. Executes Maintenance Initiatives to attain or exceed specified financial targets. Handles payroll, purchase order approvals, invoice and fuel reconciliation, and the customer bill‑back process. Ensures data integrity in the Management Online system.

Quality Management:
Conducts quality inspections of PM and repairs, performs in‑process reviews of non‑PM work, and conducts breakdown root‑cause analysis with corrective actions. Guarantees cleanliness and quality of repair for all vehicles. Works with the manager to ensure technicians are properly trained and qualified, and prioritizes work based on breakdown, rework and running‑cost trends. Maintains documentation required to meet local, state, federal, and customer requirements, and ensures compliance with safety and EPA regulations.

Asset Management:
Directs direct reports in maintaining the appearance and maintenance of the assigned location. Evaluates needs and recommends tooling and equipment. Oversees vehicle specification and in‑service/out‑service processes, ensuring all vehicles meet required specifications. Manages parts inventory, policies and procedures.

- Ability to professionally represent Ryder and competently interact with customer management.
- Strong vehicle diagnostics and repair knowledge.
- Capacity to understand labor, financial and quality planning.
- Strong sense of personal accountability and a proven track record of achieving desired results.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED (required).
- Associate’s degree.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 0 to 1 year experience in shop management systems.
- One to three years or more in a maintenance operations environment; proven success in a Ryder role may substitute.
- Microsoft Office intermediate proficiency.
Travel
No travel required.
Compensation Information
Base salary is $72,000 per year, with potential bonus, commission, or long‑term incentive plan based on level and/or type.
