FinOps (H/F)

We are looking for a FinOps Expert for our client.

Your main mission will be to implement, structure and manage FinOps practices within the organization, ensuring close control of IT costs (software, licenses, cloud).

The profile must be able to act both as a management controller (financial analysis, reporting, budgeting) and as a cloud engineer (technical understanding, optimization, automation).

YOUR MISSIONS

Across all applications and tools within its scope, which may be developed by internal teams or external publishers, deployed on-premises or on a cloud tenant:

Governance & Cost Management:

• List all cloud usage and software licenses.
• Implement a cost management strategy (showback, chargeback, cost centers)
• Monitor budgets and forecasts related to cloud infrastructure
• Detect financial irregularities and propose optimizations

Homogenization & Standardization:

• Define internal FinOps standards (tags, labels, provisioning rules)
• Harmonize monitoring and control practices between different business units/technical teams
• Ensure overall consistency in the use of cloud resources

Cloud Optimization & Strategy:

• Analyze the cloud architecture to identify cost optimization opportunities.
• Provide technical recommendations (rightsizing, reserved instances, spot, license optimizations).
• Working collaboratively with the cloud, systems, and development teams.

Reporting & Communication:

• Create consolidated dashboards (Power BI, advanced Excel, FinOps tools).
• Preparing IT budget committees: summary, analysis, action plans.
• Raising awareness among technical teams about FinOps best practices.

Key technical & financial skills:

• Financial Skills (Management Control)
• Proficiency in IT budget management (OPEX / CAPEX)
• Cost analysis, forecasting, variance analysis
• Understanding of cloud billing models (Pay-As-You-Go, Reserved Instances, licenses)
• Experience in financial optimization

Cloud skills (Azure, AWS or GCP – at least one cloud with expertise, ideally several):

• Cloud consumption analysis (Compute, Storage, Network).
• Proficiency with native dashboards: AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management, GCP Billing.
• Knowledge of cloud architectures (VMs, containers, PaaS).
• Understanding of automation mechanisms (Terraform, Ansible, CI/CD tools).
• Mastering tagging/labeling to consolidate practices.

YOUR PROFILE

• 3 to 7 years of experience in FinOps, IT management control or cloud engineering.
• Ability to bridge the gap between technical and financial issues, while simplifying complex topics.
• Strong focus on analysis, structuring, and rationalization.
• Autonomy, attention to detail, consultative approach.
