The Financial Controller team at Shine
The Financial Controller team consists of two key leadership roles: one Head of Financial Controlling responsible for France, and one Head of Financial Controlling responsible for all markets outside of France. The team is highly dedicated and specialized, and is located across multiple countries in Europe. Despite the geographical distribution, the team works closely together with a strong focus on aligning financial processes and ensuring consistent, high‑quality reporting across legal entities.
Your role as a Financial Controller
We are looking for a strong and detail‑oriented Financial Controller to join the French Financial Controlling team at Shine. This is a hands‑on, operational role with close collaboration with the Head of Financial Controlling – France and broad interaction with both local and central stakeholders. You will play a key role in ensuring high‑quality financial reporting, solid cost control, and accurate handling of assets and capitalization. The role offers significant responsibility and opportunities for professional growth in an international, fast‑growing organization. The role reports to Head of Financial Controlling – France.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
Financial Controlling & Reporting
- Prepare and maintain monthly financial reporting (P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow)
- Analyze variances and explain financial performance, delivering clear and actionable insights
- Support our FP&A team with the budgeting and forecasting processes for the French entity
- Ensure high data quality and consistency in financial reports
- Participate in year‑end close activities and related financial reporting
Cost & Asset Management
- Actively contribute to cost controlling and follow‑up on cost development
- Analyze cost drivers and identify improvement and efficiency opportunities
- Ensure accurate registration, monitoring, and reporting of assets
- Support correct capitalization of development costs in compliance with accounting standards and internal policies
Compliance & Governance
- Ensure compliance with local accounting regulations and internal financial policies
- Participate in the preparation of annual financial statements and audit documentation
- Collaborate with external auditors and contribute to a smooth audit process
Processes & Systems
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of controlling processes and reporting structures
- Actively work in ERP and analysis tools, supporting better system utilization
- Support standardization and implementation of best practices across the organization
Qualifications
About you
- Relevant higher education within finance, accounting, or economics
- Experience with financial controlling, including monthly reporting and analysis
- Experience with cost controlling and basic asset management
- Strong analytical skills and solid business understanding
- Professional‑level French & English
- Experience within a Banking environment is a plus
- Knowledge of capitalization of development costs is an advantage
- Experience from an international organization or high‑growth environment is a plus
