Overview

Hendrick Motorsports, located at 4400 Papa Joe Hendrick Blvd, Charlotte, NC 28262, is seeking a Fabricator III. Summary: Utilizes fabrication skills to work on pit equipment, race car components, upper control arms, trailing arms, and oil tanks. Tools typically used include shears, saws, punches, bead roller, belt sander, torches, templates, drills, and brakes. The role involves learning various areas of car components and improving fabrication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Weld components in flat, vertical, and overhead positions.
  • Use patterns and templates to trace shapes and cut out parts.
  • Cut metal plates and structural shapes to specified dimensions.
  • Clamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind, and/or bolt component parts required for welding.
  • Assemble and/or attach parts using rivets and various fasteners.
  • Preheat work pieces prior to welding or bending using torches or heating furnaces.
  • Assist with template checks and inspections.
  • Work in the machine shop machining parts as needed.
  • Tig welds on exotic metals (e.g., aluminum, titanium, stainless steel).
  • Provide leadership and guidance to level I and II fabricators.

Education / Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in welding (MIG, TIG, and tack welding).
  • Basic mechanical skills and ability to work a flexible schedule.
  • Knowledge of templates, measurements, and race car standards.
  • Must own personal tools.
  • Machining knowledge and experience required.
