Join our Innovative Aircraft Architecture & Product Policy Department! Airbus Helicopters in Marignane is seeking a Weight & Balance / Mass Properties Engineer to support our transnational Weight and Balance team across Marignane and Donauwörth.

Role Overview

As a key member of the Weight and Balance team, you will manage mass properties for Airbus Helicopters and collaborate with multiple internal departments.

Responsibilities

• Ensure customer mission requirements are met through accurate weight and balance management during production aircraft delivery.
• Track design modifications and report their impact on helicopter weight and balance to project and program stakeholders.
• Challenge designers to optimize part design from a weight and balance perspective.
• Create clear and concise technical documentation and notes.
• Participate in official aircraft weighings and validate results against calculations.
• Provide essential weight and balance expertise for responses to calls for tenders.
• Contribute to capitalization of business knowledge and harmonization of processes and tools.
• Manage subcontracting activities within the area of responsibility.
• Maintain strong synergies within the department and across the company.
• Provide technical leadership and support to the team during critical phases of helicopter development.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of higher education or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of confirmed experience in Weight and Balance / Mass Properties.
• Mandatory additional expertise in vehicle systems design and stress.
• Excellent written communication skills.
• Demonstrated autonomy, strong organizational skills, and rigor.
• Proactive, quick learner with passion for sharing knowledge.
• Strong interpersonal skills, adaptability, and ability to thrive in cross‑functional teams.
• Clear interest in further developing expertise in weight and balance.
• Proficiency with Windows and Google Workspace environments.
• Security clearance or eligibility to obtain one.
