Environmental Permitting Associate
Join us at ERM as an Environmental/Permitting Associate in Paris or Lyon. We’re seeking a motivated Environmental / Permitting Specialist with 1–2 years of consulting experience in permitting capital projects in France.
The ideal candidate will have technical expertise in environmental permitting for large-scale capital expansion projects, a deep understanding of Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) in line with national and lender international requirements. Renewable energy and/or data center permitting experience is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Draft the environmental aspects of projects, including ESIA, ESDD, EM Plans or Systems, and post-monitoring projects.
- Perform on-site audit/assessment to support ESDD, ESIA, and other impact assessments and monitoring projects.
- Conduct environmental fieldwork and supervise subcontractors to ensure compliance and safety.
- Provide support with writing project reports in accordance with ERM’s project management system.
- Develop proposals for key clients.
- Communicate effectively through oral, written, and presentation skills.
- Maintain strong commitment to safety and health & safety protocols.
- Travel as required.
Qualifications
- 1–2 years of experience in environmental permitting within a consulting firm.
- Fluent in French (written and spoken) and proficient in English.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Commitment to safety and ability to follow Health and Safety protocols.
