Position Overview
Are you a visionary leader who is passionate about clean energy and has what it takes to manage high-level financial projects? The Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is excited to welcome an innovative Environmental Group Manager to provide vital support within the Energy Programs Office (EPO). You will oversee programmatic operations of the Pennsylvania Energy Development Authority (PEDA) and help the Commonwealth achieve its climate and energy goals.
Responsibilities
- Operate day-to-day management of the PEDA program, overseeing and guiding development and implementation of financial assistance programs.
- Identify funding sources and develop new financial assistance programs for clean energy and energy efficiency projects.
- Support existing programs under PEDA’s Energy Accelerator Program (EAP).
- Perform technical and financial calculations and assumptions to determine prudent expenditures.
- Serve as manager of EPO’s financial incentive programs and deploy advanced, clean, and alternative energy sources throughout Pennsylvania.
- Review technical analyses of clean energy and energy efficiency projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in biological, physical, or environmental sciences, engineering, or in a field closely related to environmental protection or regulation; and at least five years of professional environmental protection experience.
- Or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Must meet Pennsylvania residency requirement.
- Must be able to perform essential job functions.
Work Schedule and Telework
Full‑time employment. Work hours: 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with a 60‑minute lunch.
Occasional travel may be required to attend conferences or meet with stakeholders.
You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part‑time, up to three days per week, provided you have a securely configured high‑speed internet connection and an approved location inside Pennsylvania. Telework eligibility is subject to change and will be confirmed during the interview.
