Job Summary
Design, integrate, and improve manufacturing systems or related processes. May work with commercial or industrial designers to refine product designs to increase producibility and decrease costs.
Where You’ll Make a Difference
- Leading implementation of Process units as part of Capital investment projects, such as New Production line, plant expansion or Run & Maintain projects.
- Be responsible for the technical detail studies and be particularly in charge of the technical design of equipment to fit the operations/process needs.
- Be a crucial member of the project teams in France and EMEA region and help drive the projects in time, within budget and with the required quality.
- Deliver basic data; Drive PIDs development in collaboration with multiple parties according to Project and company standard as well as best practices.
- Driving detailed design studies, construction, technical qualification and process unit integration into the plant system (IT/OT, DCS, MES).
- Support/lead Process Safety Management (PSM) tasks including Process technology packages, HIRA, MOCs, and pre-startup safety reviews (PSSR).
- Execute RTO start-up operations such as FAT/SAT and qualification phases (QI/QO/QP) according to the required food and dietary supplement specifications.
- Responsible for priority and deliverables of the expert team of engineers for mechanical Design, MES, Automation, Process Elec, Instrumentation and OT network.
- Provide robust process, equipment, and automation solutions, including proactive troubleshooting and root cause analysis to support operations.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to boost capacity, enhance product quality, improve safety, and reduce operational costs.
- Engage in global collaboration for equipment specifications and best practices.
- Manage and prioritize multiple projects, ensuring effective communication with internal stakeholders, business leaders, and global Manufacturing Technology teams.
- Depending on opportunities, develop in time towards the project lead of major capital projects for the business.
What Makes You The Right Fit
- Master’s or Engineering degree in Biotechnological Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Biochemical Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in process design and execution of capital or continuous improvement projects within an industrial process environment.
- Proven leadership or project management experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Strong technical expertise in industrial biotechnology processes, including fermentation, downstream processing, and formulation (liquid and solid).
- In-depth knowledge of unit operations such as fermentation (media prep, process parameters), separation (centrifugation, membrane filtration), and stabilization (cryo freezing, lyophilization).
- Solid understanding of equipment and integration—pumps, heat exchangers, valves, instrumentation, piping—and their role in production units.
- Knowledge of process control and automation in batch process environments.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with confidence in engaging senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
- Strong business acumen and strategic thinking, including budgeting, project justification, and ability to inspire and motivate teams.
