Engineer – IT Manufacturing Execution

As an Engineer at Elanco, you will be a key technical contributor to the digital heart of our production facilities. This hands‑on role bridges physical manufacturing processes with the digital systems that control and document them, ensuring operations are efficient, compliant, and reliable. Strategic priorities include Pipeline Acceleration, Manufacturing Excellence, Sales Effectiveness, and Productivity.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and implement MES solutions, including electronic batch records, workflows, and equipment integration.
• Collaborate with operations and quality teams to analyze workflows and use MES capabilities to reduce cycle time and improve data integrity.
• Provide frontline technical support for MES platforms to ensure high availability for manufacturing and lab teams.
• Assist integration between MES and other critical systems such as ERP (SAP) and shop‑floor equipment (PLCs/SCADA).
• Execute validation protocols (IQ/OQ/PQ) for MES enhancements and new implementations, generating necessary documentation and maintaining GxP compliance.
• Work closely with Manufacturing Operations, Quality Assurance, and Process Science teams to gather requirements and provide technical updates.
• Develop training materials and conduct sessions to enable personnel in using MES/LES systems effectively.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Industrial, Chemical, Manufacturing, Computer Science) or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years hands‑on experience configuring and supporting MES platforms (e.g., Tulip, Werum PAS‑X, Emerson Syncade, POMSnet).
• Experience working directly in a manufacturing environment, preferably within a GxP regulated industry.
• Working knowledge of GxP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and familiarity with computer system validation principles.
• Familiarity with industrial automation concepts, PLCs, SCADA, and integration with higher‑level manufacturing systems.
• Experience with SQL for data queries, troubleshooting, and reporting.

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for diagnosing technical issues.
• Understanding of business process analysis and workflow design; ability to read process maps and requirements documents.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, effective in cross‑functional teamwork.
• Familiarity with public cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud.
• Knowledge of DevSecOps concepts, CI/CD, source control (Git).
• Clear verbal and written communication for technical collaboration.

Travel: 0–10%. Locations: France, Huningue – hybrid; Hook, UK – hybrid; Speke, UK – hybrid.
