Electrician II (S)
The purpose of this position is to perform preventative and routine corrective maintenance on electrical building systems in a juvenile facility and to perform other electrical work as needed or assigned.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures within a juvenile facility.
- Install, maintain, repair, and modify electrical wiring, devices, machinery, and related building systems.
- Diagnose electrical issues and complete necessary repairs using standard tools and testing equipment.
- Interpret blueprint, diagrams, and sketches to complete work orders accurately and efficiently.
- Install and connect electrical equipment, including measuring, cutting, threading, and bending conduit, pulling wire, splicing, and soldering.
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety standards, electrical codes, and facility procedures.
- Work independently at the journeyman level, with periodic review of completed tasks for quality and compliance.
- Assist with general facility maintenance tasks and support other trades as needed.
- Cross‑train with maintenance staff to support the overall upkeep, safety, and operation of the juvenile facility.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities / Management Preferences
- Knowledge of standard practices and methods of the electrical trade.
- Experience with locating and correcting defects in electrical systems and equipment.
- Experience with reading and working blueprints and sketches.
Work Schedule: This is a full‑time position, 8:00‑am to 5:00‑pm. The position is considered essential and is expected to be at work despite weather conditions and is subject to on‑call status.
Salary Range: $41,206‑$72,113

Minimum Education and Experience
High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of experience in the construction or repair of secondary electrical systems;
or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Based on the nature of work performed, may require appropriate licensure by the governing board or commission.
