DWDM Optical Networking System Architect Team Leader

Duties and Responsibilities :

As part of the Architecture team of 3 people, reporting to Architecture Director, you will be in charge of the architecture definition of a new DWDM product line (with embedded software) and existing Network Management System. You will have the following responsibilities:

• Manage Architecture team, define objectives, conduct periodical One to One and yearly appraisal, identify training needs with team members
• Manage team budget from construction to follow-up
• Working with PLM (Product Line Manager) and CSO (Customer Support Organization) to get market/customer needs.
• Definition of High Level Design (detailed functional specifications) for simple/complex feature and/or complete product.
• Generation of detailed functional Specification
• Analyzing optical networking Standardization (OpenConfig, OpenRoadm, …), defining what parts must be implemented and sorting them by priority
• Contribution to Presentation and Demonstration with other member of the R&D or CSO.
• Contribution to the Optical Networking Product Line roadmap definition
• Being the interface with R&D developers to present the features to be develop, get their feedback and eventually adjust architecture.
• Userinterface definition (Command Line and Graphical)

Profile and skills :

You are an autonomous, proactive, self-learning/eager to learn engineer with the following skills and experience:

General

• Master degree or equivalent
• 10+ years in a system architect or equivalent position on Optical Networking products
• Fluent in both English and French (oral, written)
• Knowledge on Scrum, Kanban, agile @scale approaches, and Agile Principles.

Technical knowledge

• Good knowledge in management protocol (Netconf, SNMP, REST API)
• Good knowledge in networking (VLAN, OSPF, PAT, NAT,etc…)
• Knowledge of DWDM based optical Networking
• Knowledge of Ethernet and OTN Standard
• Knowledge of YANG modeling
• Knowledge of client/server software
• Knowledge of embedded software
• Knowledge of optical network is a plus
• Ability to work with large teams and international Teams.
• Ability to prioritize effectively and make decisions.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication.
• Position subject to international short travel
