You are going to join the Banking Department of BOC Paris Branch as a Due Diligence Manager.
- Review and verify account opening documents received from the front office. Complete account opening applications in the AML system, and proceed with customer ID creation upon approvals from internal departments, Legal & Compliance, and Branch Management.
- Conduct periodic and trigger-based customer reviews in the AML system in accordance with assigned risk levels and required timelines. Liaise with Account Managers or directly contact clients to update KYC documentation (ID, proof of address, source of income, etc.). Perform customer risk assessments, transaction analysis, and sanctions screening. Escalate for approvals from internal departments, Legal & Compliance, and Branch Management. Initiate client exit procedures where risks are identified, and promptly report any suspicious transactions.
- Process requests received from the front office or transaction investigation team regarding account activation or customer information updates. Perform manual customer reviews or update customer-level information as required.
- Based on monthly account closure lists provided by the front office, complete the deactivation of customer IDs.
- Submit operational risk monitoring data via internal control systems and support internal audits conducted by the Internal Control Department.
- Uphold and represent the professional image of the Paris Branch at all times.
- Provide support to other Compliance/AML team members when workloads increase, as assigned by the team head or deputy.
Qualifications
- Minimum Master’s degree (Bac+5 or equivalent)
- At least 3 year of experience in a similar position (excluding internships and apprenticeships)
- Bilingual in French and Chinese, with a good command of English
- Strong proficiency in BOC core banking systems (Core Banking), with advanced skills in standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite)
