Datadog is seeking a leader to oversee the Digital Experience Monitoring group, which includes Real User Monitoring, Product Analytics, Synthetic Monitoring, Feature Flags, and Datadog Studio. You will manage a team of 50 to 60 engineers through direct reports and collaborate with leadership to define product strategy and drive AI integration. This position is based in our Paris engineering hub and offers a clear path toward a Senior Director role.

What you'll do

• Direct engineering operations for one or more DEM product areas based on your specific expertise.
• Lead a team of 50 to 60 engineers by managing a layer of Engineering Managers.
• Partner with product leadership to author and iterate on product roadmaps rather than just executing tasks.
• Implement AI across engineering workflows, internal tooling, and end-user product features.
• Coordinate dependencies with APM, Core Platform, AI Platform, and Data Science teams.
• Mentor Engineering Managers, recruit top talent, and participate in the engineering on-call rotation.

Requirements

• Proven experience managing Engineering Managers; you must have experience in a manager-of-managers capacity.
• Background in large-scale, data-intensive, or event-driven backend systems such as high-throughput APIs or ingestion pipelines.
• Experience with full-stack or frontend-adjacent development, given the SDK-heavy nature of DEM products.
• Ability to operate in English within a cross-Atlantic organization.
• Current residence in Paris or willingness to relocate to the area.
• Commitment to an AI-first engineering philosophy in both team management and product development.
