About the Opportunity
A well‑established Canadian consulting firm with a national client base is looking to add a senior compensation consulting skilled to its Toronto team. The firm is known for its thought leadership, its team‑oriented culture, and its ability to deliver high‑impact work without the politics or pressure of larger global firms. There are no hard sales targets and no micromanagement.
The Role
You will lead compensation consulting engagements for a diverse portfolio of clients, advise boards and senior leadership on total rewards strategy, and play an active role in growing the practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage compensation consulting engagements across a portfolio of clients.
- Advise senior leadership and boards on executive compensation, incentive design, and pay strategy.
- Conduct compensation benchmarking, job evaluation, and salary structure work.
- Support pay equity compliance and analysis in line with Canadian federal and provincial legislation.
- Contribute to business development and grow the firm’s client base.
- Coach, mentor, and develop junior members of the compensation team.
- Build and maintain a public profile through thought leadership, publications, or media where relevant.
- Leverage technology and AI tools to enhance client delivery and practice efficiency.
What We Are Looking For
- 10 to 15+ years of compensation consulting experience at a recognised advisory firm.
- Strong technical compensation skills including benchmarking, incentive design, and job evaluation.
- A broad human capital outlook beyond pure technical compensation work.
- Existing client relationships or a book of business is a strong advantage.
- Experience coaching and developing junior consultants.
- Comfort with technology platforms and an interest in AI applications in HR and compensation.
- Based in Toronto or willing to relocate.
Why This Role
- No hard sales targets and no individual performance micromanagement.
- Freedom to utilise your full skillset across all areas of the practice.
- Genuine work‑life balance with no after‑hours email culture.
- One day per week in office with flexibility for senior professionals.
- Work with large, sophisticated Canadian employers on meaningful mandates.
- Opportunity to be a visible, senior voice in the Canadian compensation market.
