Director, Applied AI Transformation - Insurance

We're looking for a Director, Applied AI Transformation – Insurance to join our team across multiple European locations in a hybrid or remote working mode. In this strategic role, you will lead enterprise-scale agentic transformation for leading insurance organizations including life, P&C and reinsurance carriers and brokers. You will act as a trusted advisor to C‑suite executives and drive the design and adoption of applied AI solutions that deliver measurable business outcomes across complex regulatory environments.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute applied AI and agentic transformation strategies for insurance clients
• Serve as an advisor to C‑suite executives on AI adoption and digital innovation initiatives
• Lead presales efforts including opportunity shaping, business case construction and go‑to‑market support
• Facilitate workshops to translate business challenges into high‑impact AI and agentic use cases
• Drive enterprise AI adoption and oversee change management for successful delivery
• Lead cross‑functional teams delivering AI and multi‑agent solutions from conception to production
• Maintain expertise in large language models, multi‑agent architectures, RAG frameworks and AI orchestration platforms
• Ensure solutions meet scalability, risk, security and compliance requirements in regulated environments
• Mentor EPAM and client teams to develop AI capabilities and accelerate adoption
• Monitor emerging technologies and market trends to position EPAM as a thought leader in insurance applied AI

Requirements

• 10+ years in insurance with experience leading transformation and technology‑driven innovation
• Strong understanding of insurance industry regulations, value chains and processes including underwriting, claims, distribution and reinsurance
• Proven experience advising senior executives and implementing AI adoption strategies at scale
• Applied experience with AI including large language models, multi‑agent solutions and orchestration frameworks
• Familiarity with major AI labs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Microsoft AI) and hyperscaler platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Ability to originate and convert AI transformation engagements leveraging presales and business‑case expertise
• Leadership experience building and managing cross‑functional teams in global contexts
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills in regulated business environments
• Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Business; MBA preferred
• Ability to travel as required
