Digital Sales Engineer
As a Digital Sales Engineer for Measurement Solutions you will be part of the Emerson sales team based near one of our locations: Saint Priest Rhone Alpes, Aix En Provence, Ile De France. Your focus will be growing sales by engaging new and existing customers through digital and remote sales tools. You will use phone, web meetings, email and digital platforms to ensure full customer satisfaction and drive the agreed sales targets on our Measurement Portfolio (Pressure, Temperature, Level, Analytical, Flow).
Responsibilities
- Territory management: use digital tools to remotely engage with existing and potential customers, understand their needs, and provide tailored solutions.
- Prospecting & new customer acquisition: identify and pursue new sales opportunities through digital channels, expanding the customer base within targeted industry segments.
- Sales campaign deployment: work closely with the marketing team to implement sales campaigns aimed at specific industries and customer segments, introduce new products and solutions to existing customers, and demonstrate persistence in overcoming obstacles.
- Product knowledge: obtain in‑depth knowledge of the products and solutions for each campaign and effectively persuade and communicate the value proposition to customers.
- Relationship building: build and maintain strong relationships with customers through consistent follow‑up and excellent customer service; collaborate with domain experts and other stakeholders to create a compelling value proposition.
- Pricing & closing: realize price by using the portfolio to create customer value, closing deals with a sense of urgency while ensuring the best possible price.
- Digital tools proficiency: use CRM systems, sales automation tools (e.g. Salesloft), and digital marketing platforms (e.g. IIR, Zoominfo, LinkedIn) to find opportunities, enhance sales efforts, improve ROI, and track performance.
- Reporting & analysis: provide regular reports on sales activities, campaign effectiveness, and market feedback to the sales manager.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or related fields) or equivalent experience.
- Proficiency in French and English.
- Minimum three years of sales experience, with the ability to explain sophisticated technical products in a simplified manner.
- Strong understanding of the industrial automation and instrumentation market, including sensors, measurement devices, and control systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer‑focused attitude.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a team‑oriented environment.
- Self‑motivated with a strong drive for results and achievement of sales goals.
- Proficiency in CRM tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with Emerson's products and solutions is a plus.
- Experience selling to industries such as oil & gas, chemical, manufacturing, or energy sectors.
- Digital sales or e‑commerce experience in industrial products is advantageous.
- 3‑5 years of experience in a technical sales role, preferably in industrial automation or instrumentation.
- Power BI knowledge or experience.
