DevOps Engineer

Role Overview

Duration: 12 months (with possible extensions)

Contract Type: Freelance only

We are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to support the deployment of a critical institutional application within a customer data center environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in building, automating, and improving deployment pipelines using modern DevOps tooling and practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the deployment of applications within the client’s data center environment
• Import and validate source code from external providers into Git repositories and CI/CD pipelines
• Build and package microservices-based applications
• Monitor and validate CI/CD pipeline execution
• Review code quality and security scan outputs (SonarQube, Fortify SCA)
• Generate and manage deployment packages
• Deploy applications using orchestration tools and validate environments pre-testing
• Verify Helm charts, container images, and deployment artifacts
• Troubleshoot deployment issues and ensure system stability
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of deployment processes and DevOps practices

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 5 years of professional IT experience
• At least 3 years of recent hands-on experience with OpenShift
• Strong expertise in containerized environments and orchestration technologies, including:
• OpenShift
• Docker
• GitHub
• Jenkins
• Maven
• Ansible Tower
• SonarQube
• Fortify SCA

Additional Technical Knowledge

• CI/CD pipeline design and implementation
• Service mesh technologies (e.g., Istio)
• Messaging systems such as Apache Kafka

Education

• University degree (Master’s or equivalent) in Computer Science, Security, or Resource Management

Soft Skills

• Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities
• Excellent communication skills in English (written and spoken)
• Ability to work effectively in an international and multicultural environment
• Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
