Design Engineer (ICM) – Interior Equipment
Job Summary
We are looking for a Design Engineer (ICM) – Interior Equipment to ensure the technical feasibility and consistency of interior components within a defined project scope. This role focuses on driving the techno-economic convergence of the perimeter while ensuring compliance with project requirements in terms of Quality, Cost, Delivery, and Performance (QCDP). The successful candidate will be responsible for product definition, feasibility validation, and coordination with cross-functional teams to ensure optimal integration of interior systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the technical feasibility of the assigned project scope
- Drive the techno-economic convergence of the perimeter
- Guarantee achievement of QCDP objectives within the defined scope
- Lead and contribute to:
- BOM (Bill of Materials) consolidation
- Product definition and specifications
- Material selection
- Mass optimization
- Functional Performance Requirements (FPR)
- Support consolidation of part splitting and component definition
- Ensure feasibility of assembly concepts and processes
- Validate product and process feasibility, including:
- Compliance with plastics standards and guidelines
- Alignment with partner engineering domains:
- Structural components
- Assembly
- Materials engineering
- Logistics
- Purchasing
- External suppliers/services
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure integration and consistency of solutions
- Contribute to the development of interior systems such as:
- Instrument panel (dashboard)
- Door panels / trims
- Interior finishing (decorative elements)
- Seating systems
Requirements
Education & Experience
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field
- Proven experience in design engineering, preferably in interior automotive components
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of interior systems (dashboard, trims, seating, finishing components)
- Experience in product design, BOM management, and technical validation
- Understanding of manufacturing processes, especially plastics and interior materials
- Familiarity with automotive development processes and lifecycle
- Experience with CAD tools (e.g., CATIA V5/V6) and PLM systems is a plus
Soft Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a cross-functional and international environment
- Good communication and coordination skills
- Detail-oriented with a structured and methodical approach
Languages
- Minimum professional proficiency in English (required)
- Additional languages are a plus

- Strong technical rigor and ability to manage complex engineering topics
