Senior Consultant, Technical Advisory – Houston, TX

Key responsibilities and qualifications for this advanced consulting role include:

• Assess the client infrastructure environment, including current issues, standards, technology, tooling, processes, capabilities, operating model, and ongoing transformation.
• Support teams in creating the future‑state IT infrastructure strategy that addresses stakeholder‑agreed issues and change requirements, taking into account business strategy, guiding principles, and ongoing transformation projects.
• Design customer flows and customer journey analysis.
• Apply knowledge of business models, business and consumer technologies to develop implementation plans, IT improvement approaches, and research methods.
• Support vendor selection and procurement engagements by providing a mix of technical and analytical expertise to build requirements.
• Coordinate work efforts on a variety of projects, which includes information gathering to evaluate client business environments and economic factors.
• Provide pre‑sales support, including understanding client requirements, building proposals, building statements of work, and creating effort and resourcing plans.
• Travel domestically up to 80 % of the time and reside within a reasonable commuting distance of Houston, TX.
• Possess a minimum of 5 years consulting experience with a strong background in cloud and infrastructure architecture, and experience guiding customers through technology transformations.

Cloud Security Support Engineer – Avanade Managed Services

Key responsibilities and qualifications for this role include:

• Lead the design and governance of DevOps CI/CD strategies and enterprise delivery pipelines.
• Architect and oversee implementation of Azure cloud solutions aligned to client business and technology strategies.
• Define and enforce architectural standards, patterns, and DevOps practices across Azure environments.
• Provide technical leadership across project teams from requirements through architecture, delivery oversight, and operational handover.
• Design secure, scalable, and resilient Azure architectures for modern workloads.
• Lead technical assessments and cloud adoption strategies for customers moving to Azure.
• Conduct architectural and technical reviews to ensure solutions meet security, compliance, performance, and business objectives.
• Mentor and guide analysts and consultants in delivery and capability development.
• Contribute to pre‑sales activities including solution shaping, estimations, proposals, and client presentations.
• Perform security engineering duties, including certification, accreditation, and support of robust security frameworks within complex ICT environments.
• Ensure knowledge of Australian Government information assurance requirements, including the ISM, NIST CSF 2.0, and Essential 8.
• Maintain proficiency with Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Sentinel, Defender suite, Azure Security Center, cloud security & data logging, Incident response, Cryptography, Network and System security.
• Experience with Security Copilot, Incident Response, Threat Hunting, and Log Management/Analysis.
• Hands‑on experience managing security infrastructure (firewalls, IPS/WAFs, endpoint protection, SIEM, log management, Zscaler, Proofpoint).
• Proven experience reviewing security vulnerabilities and using vulnerability management toolsets.
• Understanding of ITIL disciplines (change, configuration, asset, incident, problem management) and application deployment to public cloud services.
• Strong communication skills to explain security issues to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with current cybersecurity trends such as Zero Trust, XDR, and AI‑driven security analytics.
  • Experience coordinating incident response, investigation, and remediation, while staying current with threat intelligence.

Compensation and Benefits

Compensation for the senior consulting roles ranges from $129,000 – $130,000 per year for the Houston, TX position, and competitive benefits include medical, dental, vision, life, long‑term disability, 401(k), bonus opportunities, paid holidays, and paid time off.
