Seeking a Climate Lead to for the Creative Destruction Lab startup program of the Deep Tech Center of HEC Paris.
Your role will be part of the Ventures & Science Applications team to support deep tech startups with their business challenges, to strengthen and leverage a mentors community, and to be the main advocate on the topic within the organisation.

Within the school Innovation & Entrepreneurship ecosystem, the Deep Tech Center focuses on deeptech entrepreneurship, supporting scientific and technical founders with their business challenges.
In this center, CDL-Paris is a joint initiative of HEC Paris and Creative Destruction Lab, supporting science-based founders from all over the world in one of the following programs: Climate technologies, Space, Artificial Intelligence, Next-Gen Computing, and Biotech (with more to come!).
Role and responsibilities
Working alongside other Stream Leads and Venture Managers, the Climate Stream Lead is responsible for startup recruitment, founders support, scientific watch, advocacy, and program resources development.
Ventures Recruitment & Selection
- Identify a pipeline of global startup prospects to engage;
- Technical due diligence for early-stage science-based ventures applying to the program;
- Interview companies and recommend program acceptance.
Venture management
- Founders relationship: provide business development support to a group of ventures, and nurture program alumni;
- Stakeholders relationship: acts as a coordinator between ventures, advisors, scientists, and students.
Ecosystem Building
- Identification and relationship building with relevant innovation hubs, such as universities, venture capital funds, incubators & accelerators, and tech organisations;
- Participate in relevant startup events, conferences, and meetups;
- Technology advocacy and science vulgarisation.
Profile
- Scientific, technological, or engineering background;
- Strong analytical ability and understanding of technologies and applications over several fields;
- Passionate about creative applications of emerging technologies;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English;
- Work experience working with startups, technology companies, or venture capital is an asset;
- Experience with Airtable and Salesforce is an asset;
- Comfortable in working in a very international environment.
