We are recruiting on behalf of one of our major clients, in the
Energy and Oil & Gas
sector for a
Construction Supervisor (Levels L1, L2, L3)
for operations in
Angola
.

You will be joining large-scale, essential energy production projects within a global organization renowned for its operational excellence and commitment to safety. The level (L1, L2, or L3) will be determined based on your experience and skills.

Construction Supervisor – What will your main responsibilities be?

As a
Construction Supervisor
, your main responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Supervising and leading the construction teams and contractors on site to ensure work completion according to project plans, specifications, and schedule.
  • Ensuring compliance with all ExxonMobil Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment (QHSE) policies and procedures, making safety an absolute priority.
  • Coordinating construction activities with other engineering and operations disciplines (Operations, Engineering, Logistics).
  • Participating in daily, weekly, and monthly planning of construction activities.
  • Conducting regular work inspections to guarantee quality and adherence to technical standards.
  • Reporting on work progress, identifying potential issues, and proposing effective solutions.
  • Managing Work Permits (PTW) and ensuring the implementation of risk mitigation measures.
  • Training and mentoring construction teams on best work practices and safety requirements.

What profile and skills are required for the Construction Supervisor position?

Education

  • Engineering or Higher Technical degree (Bachelor's degree or equivalent) in a relevant field (Civil, Construction, Mechanical, Electrical, Piping, etc.).
  • Professional certifications in construction management or QHSE are a plus.

Experience

  • L1 (Junior): Minimum of 5 to 8 years of relevant experience in construction supervision, ideally in the oil and gas industry or heavy industrial projects.
  • L2 (Confirmed): Minimum of 8 to 15 years of experience in construction supervision on complex projects, with proven experience in team and contractor management.
  • L3 (Senior/Expert): More than 15 years of significant experience, including managing large projects and/or multiple sites simultaneously.
  • Experience working in Angola or a comparable international environment is highly desirable.

Technical Skills

  • Excellent understanding of construction codes, standards, and specifications in the oil and gas industry.
  • Proficiency in Work Permit (PTW) management practices and systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings (P&IDs, Isometrics, site plans, etc.).
  • Solid knowledge of QHSE and risk analysis (JSA/TRA).
  • Proficiency in Portuguese (a major asset, particularly for interacting with local teams) and fluency in English (written and spoken) are essential.
  • Basic computer skills (MS Office suite, planning tools).
