Cloud Platform Engineer
Job description
As a pioneer in sustainable animal breeding andgenetics company, we are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Cloud Platform Engineer to join our team in The Netherlands or France. As a Cloud Platform Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining, developing, troubleshooting, and deploying applications and systems on HG’s cloud computing environment, with a focus on Microsoft Azure and other public cloud platforms. This role demands expertise in Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and hybrid computing environments.
You will work closely with the architecture team and Software Engineers to define and implement standards for designing, building, testing, and deploying cloud-based applications. Additionally, you will automate infrastructure provisioning and scaling processes, ensuring high availability, reliability, security, and operational excellence.
What are your main tasksand responsibilities?
- Maintain and develop AVD and Intune profiles in line with business requirements
- Develop and manage cloud infrastructure and configurations as code using tools like Terraform
- Build workload-specific infrastructure environments in Azure with a focus on high availability, disaster recovery, security, and monitoring
- Maintain, monitor, and support platform services and environments to ensure performance and uptime
- Diagnose and resolve complex systems, software, and connectivity issues
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business and technical requirements
- Automate processes through scripting and infrastructure-as-code practices to improve cost efficiency and operational excellence
- Integrate cloud solutions with other platforms and applicationsDevelop alerts, monitoring techniques, and health‑check solutions to proactively address potential issues
- Communicate incidents, resolutions, and updates to stakeholders, IT teams, and leadership
- Ensure adherence to processes such as backups, maintenance schedules, and operational standards
