The Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) will lead Akhand Jyoti Eye Hospitals human resources strategy, focusing on building a team of motivated and committed employees and a robust leadership pipeline that meets the organisations business and value startegy. The CHRO will be responsible for propagating and preserving the hospitals culture and values while supporting growth. The CHRO will play a critical role in aligning HR initiatives with the organisations Vision 2030 goals.

Role & responsibilities

1. Culture and Values

  • Ensure Akhand Jyotis core values Compassion, Respect, Teamwork, and Commitment are embedded in all functional practices and processes.
  • Foster an inclusive, mission-driven workplace culture that aligns with the hospitals spiritual and social objectives.

2. Performance assessment and Leadership Development

  • Develop and implement an effective performance appraisal system.
  • Assist heads of departments to prepare key result areas (KRAs) for their team and ensure HODs provide proper communication, conduct periodical reviews and provide feedback on achievement of KRAs.
  • Determine increments/promotions/rewards and recognition based on employees performance.
  • Consolidate training requirements of all employees identified through their performance assessment and design suitable training programmes.
  • Design and implement a robust leadership pipeline to ensure sustainability and continuity.
  • Identify high-potential employees and create development plans for their career progression.

3. Talent Acquisition and Management

  • Manage workforce planning to meet the hospital’s growing needs and support Vision 2030 objectives.
  • Develop innovative recruitment strategies to attract and retain top talent and align them with organisational values.
  • Ensure proper induction and on the job training of all new recruits to align them with the goals and objectives of the hospital.
  • Ensure fitment of new and existing employees in proper salary grade and structure.

4. Learning and Development

  • Collaborate with department heads to identify training requirements of their team and design programs to address skill gaps based on their job descriptions.
  • Design training programmes to meet functional, clinical, managerial and leadership training needs of clinical and non-clinical employees and identify suitable faculty to conduct the programmes.
  • Lead the establishment of the “Leading from the Back” Institute to nurture leadership skills within and beyond Akhand Jyoti.

5. Employee Engagement and Well-Being

  • Ensure employee satisfaction surveys/climate surveys/attitude surveys are conducted and introduce organisation development interventions to enhance job satisfaction and create a positive work environment.
  • Ensure surveys and introduce various initiatives periodically to measure employees’ alignment with organisational values and take corrective action if necessary.
  • Implement wellness programs including mental health support and work-life balance initiatives.
  • Introduce employee engagement activities like sports, cultural programmes, reward and recognition schemes, suggestion schemes, employee of the month awards to foster commitment and team spirit.

6. Organisational Design and Change Management

  • Align organization structure with Akhand Jyoti’s long-term strategy to support growth and efficiency.
  • Keep abreast of latest developments in HR in the healthcare field in Bihar and other regions and introduce changes within Akhand Jyoti to ensure efficiency and competitiveness.

7. HR Operations and Compliance

  • Prepare budget for department.
  • Oversee all HR systems and processes, including payroll, salary and grade structure and policy implementation and modify policies as and when necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with labour and other laws applicable to Akhand Jyoti and ensure maintenance of proper records.
  • Implement digitisation of all HR systems and processes to streamline operations and ensure data related to human resources is available as required.

Job Specifications:

Education:

  • MBA/PGDM in Human Resources Management/Organizational Development, or equivalent professional qualifications from a reputed institute.

Experience:

  • 15–20 years of experience in HR, with at least 5 years in a leadership role in the healthcare sector.

Skills:

  • Expertise in talent development, organisational culture, and HR strategy.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and engage.
  • Proven track record in building leadership pipelines and internal talent development.
  • Knowledge of labour laws and compliances requirements applicable to the healthcare industry.
  • Willingness to adapt and upgrade to technological advancements.
  • Proactive and solution-oriented mindset, capable of driving innovation and finding creative solutions to challenges.
  • Proven ability to maintain high standards of performance and provide high quality service even with limited resources.
  • Ability to achieve ambitious goals and adapt to dynamic, uncertain environment to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Emotional resilience and adaptability, fostering stability and motivation in challenging scenarios.
  • Ability to balance long-term strategic plans with hands‑on execution to achieve measurable short-term goals.

Other Requirements:

  • Willingness to relocate to Patna, Bihar.
  • Strong commitment to the mission and values of Akhand Jyoti Eye Hospital.

Compensation:

  • Salary shall commensurate with qualifications and experience.
  • House rent allowance and transport from Patna to Mastichak shall be provided.
