Job Description
Location: Position will be in our headquarters in Nanterre, Paris, France. Possibility to be mobilized on project construction sites either in France or abroad.
Responsibilities
- Plan and mobilize the necessary resources to projects, coordinating with the chartering department head.
- Lead the tendering process for vessel selection, review vessel specifications and proposed execution plan (route, transit duration assessment), in coordination with the T&I department, Logistics technical and management.
- Ensure vessel owner and logistics service provider evaluation, selection and management follows established project and group procedures.
- Ensure contractual flow-down from the main contract to the CPA terms and conditions and hold accountability.
- Lead overall negotiation of the TCPS and secure fleet to perform sea transport activities on time based on technical assessment.
- Issue and obtain approvals for all sea transportation related project procedures; review vessel owners’ procedures with Fleet Manager for marine and contractual compliance.
- Coordinate with Marine (Warranty) surveyor during vessel inspections and follow up remedial actions to ensure vessel compliance with codes and specifications before mobilization.
- Ensure timely mobilization of vessels, coordinate with Loadout, transport and logistics teams, prepare works and be present during operations when required.
- Provide instructions to fleet manager (vessel sailing instructions), voyage planning (boarding armed guards) and request daily fleet status updates.
- Provide comprehensive reports to Logistics manager on vessel ETA and concerns.
- Initiate actions to keep sea transportation scope on schedule, secure permits, agreements, licenses for offshore operations.
- Control financial aspects of sea transportation and administration of TCPs.
- Assist Project Logistics Manager in evaluating and mitigating transport risks and monitoring mitigation plans.
- Lead chartering administrators to ensure procedures, invoice review and settlement, and TCP T&C compliance.
- Lead incident investigation when vessel incidents occur.
- Participate in constructability review, HAZIDs, and mobilization readiness review.
- Enforce Group QA and HSE practices.
- Ensure preservation aspects are respected and coordinate with yards to resolve preservation issues.
- Identify scope changes and notify Project Logistics Manager and Company; coordinate and lead price & schedule impact preparation of change orders.
- Prepare and issue TCP package close‑out report after project completion.
- Safeguard overall project and client interests.
- Maintain a sound relationship with vessel owners.
- Lead all bulk vessel chartering (tendering to award and operation) and liaise with transport team for requirements.
Qualifications
- Degree in Maritime Shipping or Engineering.
- 7–10 years of experience in subcontracts or chartering.
- Strong knowledge of BIMCO contracts and negotiation skills.
- Strong communication skills in English (written and oral).
- Dynamic, adaptable mindset with passion for learning and problem-solving.
