CDI - Responsable Développement Packaging et Industrialisation (F/H/X)
You will concurrently execute the development and the qualification of a portfolio of several projects varying from simple to very complex.
This will involve identifying, developing, and implementing solutions for primary and secondary packaging, from early inception (design in partnership with Marketing and Creative) through qualifications at suppliers and contract manufacturers.
The projects success criteria include launch delivery on-time, with uncompromised quality, at the right capacity and at the right cost.
In this key role you will leverage your technical expertise, leadership and project management skills.
A high level of collaboration is needed to partner with cross functional teams, from internal (Marketing, Creative Team, Formula Development, Purchasing, Project Management, Supply Chain, Finance, Regulatory) to external (Packaging Suppliers, Contract Manufacturers).
You will actively build strong organizational capabilities, leading a team of several packaging engineers.
You will be responsible for:
- Collaborating with Marketing and Formula Development teams on new briefs that are technically and financially viable. Advise creative team on best way to achieve requested designs.
- Working closely with Purchasing to answer Marketing briefs while respecting cost and gross margin targets.
- Conducting and communicating risk assessment studies centered around packaging and industrialization.
- Conducting all necessary testing to validate success criteria, including line trial at contract manufacturers facilities.
- Validating homologation plans for both packaging and finished goods.
- Responsible for components and finished goods specifications.
- Validating new component tooling.
- Conducting aesthetic development (color matching, decoration).
- Reviewing/Approving Artwork files.
- Attending first production, when possible, to ensure components and finished goods are of the correct quality expectations.
- Approving quality standards and range boards for Components and Finished Goods.
- Validating tertiary packaging for finished goods and palletization plans.
- Working on optimization of existing components to improve quality, reduce cost and improve sustainability.
- Overall, following up on timelines and reporting regularly on status of development issues to the immediate supervisor and to the project managers. Identifying mitigations plans and ensuring their deployment.
- Supporting sustainability programs specifically applied to packaging.

- Experience working in the technical packaging role, in the Beauty industry, minimum 10 years.
- Academic qualifications: Scientific Bachelors (packaging, chemistry, mechanical engineering, or other relevant discipline).
- Operate with discipline in a dynamic and fast-moving project pipeline. High sense of accountability and ownership focused on priorities.
- Willingness to work in agile, entrepreneurial, hands-on type environment. Ability to adapt to change.
- Problem-solving skills. Ability to identify smart solutions with the right level of pragmatism.
- Strong interpersonal communication and presentation skills for verbal and written communication of ideas, technical rationales, risks, issues, and recommendations.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced organization. Able to travel when required.
- Professional fluency in English.
