Backend Software Engineer (Python / DevOps)

Responsibilities

• Develop core product features: write clean, structured Python application code for hardware update, testing, and inventory systems.
• Own your domain (Frontend or DevOps): architect complex React/TypeScript admin interfaces or manage Proxmox clusters, secrets, and automated deployments using Terraform and Ansible.
• Bridge low‑level hardware data collection to web APIs across a diverse codebase.
• Drive a new infrastructure initiative: partner with the team to design and ship next‑generation architecture milestones.
• Maintain code quality: optimize, refactor, and test existing code to ensure stability during long‑running hardware validation tests.
• Participate in code reviews, champion clean architecture, and engage in lightweight Scrum ceremonies (daily stand‑ups, sprints, retrospectives).

Qualifications – Hard Skills

• Major – Core Software Engineering (essential) : strong proficiency in Python; at least four years of experience writing structured, testable application code; deep understanding of clean design, API design, and backend systems.
• Minor – Secondary Strength (choose one) :
  • The Frontend Track : experience building responsive web applications with React and TypeScript, modern state management, and handling complex asynchronous states.
  • The DevOps / IaC Track : experience with Infrastructure as Code, Ansible, Terraform, GitLab CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, and automation of virtualized clusters.
• Nice to have – Systems Track : solid foundations in Linux system administration, networking (VLANs, routing), bare‑metal provisioning (DHCP, PXE, TFTP), and building custom Linux OS images.

• Ability to work autonomously within a structured Scrum environment.
• Highly involved, conscientious, and proactive in project delivery.
