AXA Health - Technical Monitoring Lead F/H
Overview
AXA seeks to establish Health as a cornerstone of its equity story and global business positioning. AXA Health was created in 2023 as a new global business unit, with a strategy around three pillars. The first pillar—“Specialize”—aims to transform the business and upskill technical expertise in Claims, Underwriting, and Pricing, leveraging data and AI.
The Technical Monitoring Lead is responsible for providing a clear view of the technical performance of the Health & Employee Benefits business across AXA entities. The role ensures robust monitoring of Gross Written Premium (GWP) and earnings trajectories, identifies key technical drivers (including medical inflation, pricing, and claims initiatives), and anticipates risks and opportunities to support informed decision-making by senior management. The role operates in a context of high and volatile medical inflation, increasing pressure on margins, and growing complexity of Health & EB portfolios.
Key challenges
- Understanding complex and heterogeneous business drivers across multiple geographies, products, and regulatory environments
- Connecting technical metrics to business outcomes, translating actuarial and claims insights into clear, actionable messages for senior stakeholders
- Anticipating performance deviations early, in a context where impacts (e.g., inflation, pricing adequacy, claims trends) can materialize with delay
- Ensuring consistency and comparability of data across entities with different maturity levels and methodologies
The role requires balancing technical depth, strategic perspective, and strong stakeholder management.

- Contribute to proactively identify emerging technical risks and opportunities impacting growth and profitability.
- Actions: Detect early warning signals on medical inflation, loss ratio deterioration, or pricing inadequacy; support timely escalation and recommendation of corrective actions in collaboration with entities; strengthen technical monitoring capabilities across entities.
- Contribute to enhance the overall technical monitoring maturity and consistency across AXA entities.
