Assistant City Attorney – Environmental Services

The City of Springfield is seeking an experienced legal professional to serve as an Assistant City Attorney, focusing on the Department of Environmental Services.

This role involves providing advanced legal services for Environmental Services, including Clean Water Services and Solid Waste Management.

Responsibilities include:

• Advising on regulations related to water quality, stormwater, wastewater, and solid waste.
• Supporting utility operations and infrastructure projects.
• Handling permitting, regulatory compliance, contracts, and enforcement matters.
• Coordinating with operational staff.

You will work directly with agencies such as the Missouri Department of Natural Resources and the Environmental Protection Agency.

This role is ideal for attorneys with a background in environmental law and practical experience with the legal, regulatory, and operational issues involved in running a utility.
