AFRICA COMMUNICATIONS COORDINATOR
The Global Buildings Performance Network (GBPN) is an international non-profit organisation supporting countries to decarbonise the buildings and constructionsector.
GBPN is expanding its Africa programmes, with increasing activities across the continent related to sustainable buildings, climate action, and energy transition. As programme activities grow, GBPN seeks communications support to strengthen the visibility, documentation, and dissemination of programmeoutputs.
To support this effort, GBPN is seeking the services of an Africa Communications Assistant to work closely with the Africa Programmes team to support communications, digital content development, and dissemination of programmeoutputs.
THE OPPORTUNITY
GBPN is seeking the services of an Africa Communications Coordinator who can work closely with the Africa Programmes team and Global Communications teamto:
- Prepare project write-ups, articles, and summaries of Africa programme activities andmilestones.
- Develop visual communication materials, including graphics, flyers, banners, and social media assets for events andpublications.
- Support the design of graphics and visual elements for reports, publications, andpresentations.
- Coordinate with GBPN’s internal communications team to publish content across communication platforms including the GBPN website, LinkedIn, Instagram, and other relevantchannels.
- Support promotion and dissemination of programme outputs, including reports, toolkits, and eventoutputs.
- Coordinate with external partners and media contacts on communications related to Africa programmeactivities.
- Support communications planning and materials for events, launches, and programmeannouncements.
Target Regions: AfricaPlace of work: RemoteAnticipated start of work: 15 th April 2026Duration: 9 monthsExpected Input: 5-7 days/ month
QUALIFICATIONS
We are seeking a communications professional with experience supporting communications and knowledge dissemination in development, climate, or sustainability-relatedprogrammes.
The preferred candidate will have:
- A bachelor’s degree in a communications-related field from a recognizedinstitution
- Strong skills in content writing and editing for reports, articles, and socialmedia.
- Experience developing visual communication materials using tools such as Canva or similarplatforms.
- Experience coordinating communications across digital platforms such as websites and socialmedia.
- Familiarity with climate, sustainability, or development programmes is anadvantage.
All consultant/expert /partner organization……..must fulfill the followingcriteria:
- At least 3 years of professional experience in communications, media, or knowledgedissemination.
- Excellent English writing and communicationskills.
- Experience in digital communications and visual contentdevelopment.
- Ability to work remotely and coordinate across internationalteams.
- Access to reliable high-speedinternet.
SCOPE OF WORK ANDREPORTING
Scope of work
The Communications Coordinator will support the Africa Programmes team with communications and dissemination activities across ongoingprojects.
Tasks, Deliverables andschedule
The main outputs from this work willinclude:
- Preparation of project write-ups, articles and programmeupdates.
- Development of visual communication materials for publications, events, and digitaldissemination.
- Design of graphics and visual assets for reports and programmeoutputs.
- Coordination of content publication across GBPN communicationplatforms.
- Support for communications related to events, launches, and programmeannouncements.
- Coordination with external partners and media contacts whererequired.
The Communications Coordinator will coordinate closely with the GBPN Africa Team and the Global Communications team.All final outputs will be subject to internal GBPN review procedures.The consultant should be available for regular check-in meetings to discuss progress and priorities. These meetings may take place via teleconference asrequired.

- Duration: 9 months (renewable based onperformance).
- The consultant will work remotely from their normal place ofwork.
- Schedule of Payment
- Payment will be made monthly, upon submission of:
- Invoice
- Timesheet
- Summary of work completed.
