Aerospace Project Manager

Because of our continued growth we are looking to appoint a Project Manager (Aerospace) to be based in either Nantes or Montoir regions. The role will require some travel and be onsite when needed.

We can be flexible on either permanent or freelance contracts.

The role

The role is responsible for providing advanced technical support, driving process improvements, and ensuring seamless collaboration across cross‑functional and international project teams. This position plays a key part in diagnosing complex issues, developing corrective actions, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives within customer operations—particularly in the aerospace sector.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Support & Analysis

• Provide specialized technical expertise to project teams, supporting the evaluation, analysis, and execution of technical tasks throughout the project lifecycle.
• Assist in troubleshooting complex technical challenges by applying engineering principles, industry standards, and best practices.
• Conduct comprehensive investigations into customer operations and ways of working to understand failure modes, operational constraints, and systemic issues.
• Utilize structured problem‑solving methodologies (e.g., 5 Whys, Ishikawa, FMEA) to identify root causes and propose effective, sustainable solutions.

Corrective & Preventive Action

• Develop detailed corrective action plans to address identified issues, ensuring alignment with customer expectations and regulatory requirements.
• Implement, track, and validate the effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions to prevent recurrence and improve operational reliability.

Process Improvement

• Collaborate closely with production teams, engineering, and stakeholders to identify inefficiencies and opportunities for optimization.
• Support the design and rollout of process improvements that enhance quality, reduce waste, and increase operational performance.

Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain accurate, comprehensive documentation of project activities, methodologies, findings, and improvement actions.
• Prepare clear technical reports and communicate insights effectively to internal teams, customers, and leadership.

Cross‑Functional Leadership

• Facilitate communication and alignment across cross‑functional teams—including engineering, quality, production, and customer representatives to resolve complex issues.
• Lead or support cross‑functional workshops, problem‑solving sessions, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Trend Monitoring & Opportunity Identification

• Monitor operational data, customer feedback, and performance indicators to identify emerging trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
• Provide recommendations that support long‑term strategic improvements within customer facilities.

International Collaboration

• Work effectively within an international project environment, coordinating with global teams to share knowledge, align processes, and ensure consistent execution across regions.

Experience

• Proven technical experience within the aerospace industry, with a strong understanding of aerospace standards, manufacturing processes, and quality requirements.
• Experience supporting or leading manufacturing‑related projects, particularly in high‑precision or regulated environments, is highly advantageous.
