THE MISSION

We are looking for a motivated Account Manager to create long-term, trusting relationships with our merchant partners in France in the E-commerce industry. The Account Manager’s role is to oversee a portfolio of assigned merchant partners, actively seeking new sales and business opportunities with existing partners. Additionally, the Account Manager will be responsible for collecting, analyzing, preparing and reporting key data points.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Retain and grow your portfolio through sales calls, business reviews, negotiations, and regular check-ins
  • Consult merchants on revenue and marketing optimisation, leveraging Scalapay's paid products and services (Affiliation, Media Packages)
  • Collaborate with the Sales team on enterprise Go-Lives and integration quality
  • Use data to identify opportunities and deliver tailored proposals to merchants
  • Manage co-marketing activities in partnership with our Marketing team
  • Build and share case studies and best practices to scale account management across the team
  • Be your merchants' internal advocate — feed insights back to improve our product, model, and integrations
  • Meet merchants in person: market visits, fairs, events
  • Keep up to date with everything cool that's happening in the industry; think of yourself as the expert for innovation in the industry.

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

What’s non-negotiable:

  • 4+ years experience in a similar account management role and/or as a business consultant, preferably in fields related to e-commerce or BNPL
  • French native or near-native level (C1-C2) to speak with merchants
  • Full working proficiency in English (B2+) - our internal global communication language -
  • Strong commercial instincts — you know how to negotiate, upsell , and build lasting partnerships
  • Data-driven and proactive — you spot opportunities before someone points them out
  • Comfortable with KPIs and sales processes built on clear leading indicators

What makes you stand out:

  • You speak any of these additional languages : Italian, Spanish or Portuguese
  • You hate inefficiency—when you see a broken process, you fix it
  • You thrive in ambiguity and prioritize without hand-holding
  • You communicate clearly and directly (no "corporate speak")
  • You care about the merchant experience, not just completing tasks
  • You have previous exposure to startup/scale-up environments (you know what "fast" means)

  • Anyone uncomfortable with direct merchant communication
