Position Summary
As an Account Manager, you will be responsible for managing and growing one or more strategic accounts across France and/or Western Europe. These accounts are critical to Bentley’s success in the region and require a strategic, long‑term approach focused on driving mutual growth and business value. You will serve as a trusted advisor to your assigned customers, positioning Bentley as their partner of choice for new investments and digital transformation initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Achieve a trusted advisor status with your assigned accounts, leading to:
- The new business default is “Why Not Bentley?”
- Regular collaborative meetings occur
- The account routinely consults Bentley on matters regarding growth and strategy
- Ongoing executive‑level access is in place
- Develop and maintain exemplary account plans for your assigned accounts to effectively communicate your vision and goals, securing internal buy‑in and support to develop the account.
- Develop and execute sales strategies to ensure Bentley is recognized as a critical strategic business partner and formally classified by the account as such.
- Develop strategies and tactics to maximize Bentley revenues from your assigned accounts, consistently overachieving your revenue goals.
- Diligently and consistently apply and execute the Bentley Sales Process to achieve sales objectives.
- Develop and maintain working relationships with marketing, product advancement, and operational advancement teams to ensure your accounts are viewed as strategic and receive required cross‑department support.
- Be an exemplary sales professional who other sales colleagues in the team aspire to emulate and seek inspiration and guidance from.
- Maintain appropriate knowledge of the market, industry standards, commercial offerings, and product offerings.
- Proactively engage in networking activities, attending key industry conferences and seminars, and establish and nurture strategic contacts that are key to Bentley’s short, medium, and long‑term business success.
- Work to ensure that the market identifies and associates Bentley as an industry leader associated with key strategic projects and initiatives in the region.
- Be a key advisor to the Regional VP, providing strategic thinking leadership, ensuring the Regional VP is fully equipped to make prompt industry pivots and double‑down sales moves as appropriate.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience working with comparable vendors to Bentley, undertaking roles with responsibilities aligned with those outlined above.
- Educated to bachelor’s degree level or relevant training and/or experience; MBA is desirable.
- A proven track record of successful strategic sales in the infrastructure market sector with particular interest in construction, energy, and water industry sectors.
- An industry‑leading presence on social platforms like LinkedIn.
- A demonstrable extensive senior infrastructure industry leaders’ network and contact list.
- A strong engaging, driving, positive can‑do/will‑do attitude, eye for detail, resourceful, inquisitive, and entrepreneurial.
- Native French and professional proficiency in English.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively present information via phone, web, and face‑to‑face.
- An active member of French industry organizations such as civil or O/G engineering institutions and the like.
