X-ray Optics Manufacturing Technician (F/M)
Context & Job Description
As an X-ray Optics Manufacturing Technician, you'll join a small, specialised team in the X-ray Optics Group and contribute to the manufacture of high-precision crystal analysers used in cutting-edge X-ray instrumentation.
Your Main Responsibilities Will Include
- Manufacturing crystal analysers and other X-ray optical components
- Operating, maintaining and calibrating manufacturing equipment
- Measuring the surface topography of optical components
- Working in a clean-room environment following established procedures
- Handling high-value, fragile optical components with great care
- Managing stocks of raw materials and consumables
- Documenting manufacturing activities and maintaining technical records
- Contributing to process improvements and the development of new manufacturing methods
- Supporting other activities within the X-ray Optics Group when required
Expected profile
You have a technician qualification (BSc, HND, BTS, DUT or equivalent) in physics, materials science, chemistry, microelectronics or a related field.
We're Looking For Someone Who
- enjoys practical, hands-on technical work
- has excellent manual dexterity and attention to detail
- is organised and methodical
- works well as part of a team
- communicates effectively in English
Experience in one or more of the following would be an advantage:
- machining, grinding, dicing or bonding
- optical polishing
- vacuum systems
- clean-room manufacturing
Previous experience is welcome, but we also encourage recent graduates and early-career technicians.
Working conditions
Permanent contract.
The salary will be calculated on the basis of relevant qualifications and professional experience.
