Works Manager - Rock Bag Installation

UTM Consultants are looking for a Works Manager. You will be responsible for the operational execution of works on site. You will be supported by a team of site superintendents and project engineers and will report directly to the Project Manager. Your focus will be on the overall delivery of the works, while the superintendents manage day-to-day site issues.

As Works Manager, you will support a French subsea cable project with barge operations for the Rock Bag scope.

You will provide combined offshore installation management and works management for the Rock Bag installation spread. You will act as the single point of accountability for HSE, POB and emergency response, while directing daily Rock Bag installation operations against the plan.

Primary Tasks and Responsibilities

• Organise the planning of the works.
• Focus on the optimisation and execution of subsea cable installation projects.
• Manage the client’s needs, both internal and external.
• Contribute to the efficient realisation of project activities.
• Manage QHSE-S standards and keep the project within time and budget.
• Work closely with Superintendents and Project Engineers on site.
• Coordinate the operational staff.

Technical Profile Requirements

• At least 3 years’ experience with complex offshore engineering projects.
• Strong project management and planning skills.
• Extensive experience working in high-safety environments.

Non-Technical Profile Requirements

• Good communication skills and the ability to take a critical view of the works to be carried out.
• Ability to work well in teams, support others and lead the workforce in the field.
• Ability to work autonomously and solve problems.
• Hands-on mentality.

Methodology and Certification Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, preferably with a specialisation in construction, or equivalent experience.
• Offshore Medical Certificate.
• Chester Step.
• STCW Basic Safety Training.

Language Proficiencies

• Fluency in Dutch is preferred and considered a strong asset.
• Fluent English is required, both written and spoken.
• Proficiency in other languages is a plus.
