Role Overview
The Workover Engineer will provide engineering and operational support to Company affiliates for well intervention, workover, and well integrity activities across multiple assets.
Based in Paris, the role supports operational entities worldwide by preparing workover programs, optimizing intervention strategies, coordinating technical studies, and providing operational assistance during execution phases.
The position interfaces with field operations, drilling/workover teams, production departments, subsurface teams, and service companies to ensure safe, efficient, and cost‑effective operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed workover and well intervention programs
- Design operational sequences and technical procedures
- Define equipment requirements and service scope
- Support well integrity remediation and production enhancement strategies
Affiliate Technical Support
- Provide technical assistance to Company affiliates during workover operations, well intervention campaigns, and well integrity operations
- Support operational troubleshooting and decision‑making
- Assist affiliates in optimizing operational performance and minimizing non‑productive time (NPT)
Operational Follow‑up
- Monitor ongoing workover activities across affiliates
- Review operational performance and KPI tracking
- Analyze operational risks and propose mitigation measures
- Participate in operational reviews and lessons‑learned processes
Well Integrity & Production Support
- Support tubing replacement programs, artificial lift interventions, recompletion strategies, well diagnostics, and integrity evaluations
- Contribute to maximizing well productivity and operational reliability
Contractor & Service Company Coordination
- Coordinate with drilling/workover contractors and service companies
- Review technical proposals and operational procedures
- Ensure contractor compliance with Company standards and operational requirements
Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare engineering programs, technical notes, end‑of‑well reports, and operational summaries
- Maintain accurate engineering documentation and reporting systems
HSE Responsibilities
- Ensure all activities comply with Company HSE policies and standards
- Promote strong safety culture across all supported affiliates
- Participate in risk assessments and operational safety reviews
- Ensure well control principles and operational integrity are respected
Qualifications & Experience
Education
- Engineering degree in Petroleum, Mechanical, or related discipline
Experience
- Minimum 8‑12 years of experience in workover and well intervention engineering
- Experience supporting offshore and/or onshore operations
- International or multi‑asset experience preferred
Technical Skills
- Workover and well intervention engineering
