Job Summary: We are seeking a Workforce Finance & People Analytics Analyst responsible for ensuring optimal workforce allocation and cost control across the organization, as well as making monthly consolidation checks with the payroll team. This role combines analytical expertise with strategic HR planning to support business objectives, monitor headcount, and manage staff budget and forecasts effectively, while acting as a key interface between HR, Finance, and operational teams. As a unique Workforce Finance & People Analytics Analyst, you will report to the Head of Controlling and be part of a controlling team.
Key Responsibilities
Workforce Planning & Analysis
- Collaborate with all managers (Directors and Heads of) and the HR team to ensure accurate workforce planning (staff and consultants) and provide insights to support decision-making
- Prepare and track personnel cost budgets, including salaries, benefits, and staff-related expenses.
- Analyze variances between actual and forecasted HR costs and prepare short presentations to highlight main facts and figures.
- Maintains live headcount plan with HR and BU heads. Translates hiring plans into financial impact in budget and rolling forecast
- Support implementation of tools associated with workforce planning and resource management
Reporting & Process Optimization
- Ensure accuracy for monthly and annual reporting consistency to the Group and develop appropriate KPIs
- Develop internal KPIs to effectively monitor data, track cost-per-head and department cost
- Monitor resource deployment across projects and teams. Implement best practices for HR controlling and data management.
- Identify and explain variances between payroll, budget, forecast, and actuals : develop and automate analysis tools/reporting
Payroll Accounting & Reconciliation
- Oversees payroll with HR and ensures the appropriate bookkeeping, control that payroll entries are accurate and payments done in line with records, reconciled monthly and variances flagged
- Reconcile payroll figures with General Ledger, prepare and book accruals and provisions in line with, headcount and workforce planning assumptions, Validate that payroll expenses are posted to the correct cost centers and projects
Key Requirements
Hard Skills
- Financial background, including accounting processes.
- Basic payroll knowledge (linkage between HR and Accounting) is a plus
- Proficiency in managing and interpreting data with strong analytical skills
- Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in ERP systems (SAP would be a plus)
- Appetite for sytems/tooling setup and evolution
Soft Skills
- Team player with a strong collaborative mindset
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with a variety of stakeholders, including leadership team and C-level
- Business acumen, strong customer orientation and strategic mindset
- Attention to detail and ability to translate business insights into reporting or presentations for C-level management
Language Skills
- Fluent English (written and verbal)
Education and Experience
- Degree in Finance, HR Management, Business Administration, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in HR controlling, workforce planning, or financial controlling
Location
Your work location will preferably be Paris, with no specific restriction amongst other EPEX office locations, and an attractive hybrid work policy.
