Wind Turbine Technician
Renewables Maintenance Technician (Wind Turbines)
Location: Troyes, France
Salary: up to €48,000 per year
Bonuses: Annual Performance Bonus + On-Call Allowances
Company Overview
We are supporting a well-established international renewable energy business in the search for a Renewables Maintenance Technician to join their growing operational team in Troyes, France.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands‑on technician looking to build their career within the renewable energy sector, working directly on wind energy assets while supporting the performance, reliability, and long‑term maintenance of critical infrastructure.
The Opportunity
This position is based in Troyes, where the business has an operational office, as the primary focus of the role will be maintaining nearby wind farm assets. Due to the nature of reactive and planned maintenance activities, being located within this region is considered essential.
Alongside the local asset portfolio, the successful individual will also support maintenance activities across other regions in France, with occasional international travel to other European renewable energy sites when required.
When carrying out maintenance work within the Troyes area during normal working hours, this would form part of standard duties rather than business travel. However, on‑call participation is a key part of the position, with additional allowances paid for weekday out‑of‑hours callouts and weekend cover.
For planned interventions outside the local area, all business travel is organised and fully supported via the company’s internal travel booking platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform planned preventative and corrective maintenance on wind turbines and associated substations
- Carry out mechanical, electrical, diagnostic and safety inspections
- Troubleshoot faults and perform repair work to minimise downtime
- Monitor turbine performance, alarms, and asset reliability

- Update maintenance histories and CMMS records
- Work closely with site operations teams, dispatch, and technical supervision teams

- Ensure strict compliance with all QHSE and site safety procedures
- Participate in safety meetings, inspections, and operational improvement activities
Candidate Profile
- A qualification in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, Automation, or similar
- At least 2 years of technical maintenance experience, ideally within renewables, utilities, industrial maintenance, or high‑voltage environments
- Strong electrical and/or mechanical fault‑finding capability
- Experience reading electrical schematics and technical documentation
- Ability to work at height safely
- Good physical fitness for field‑based engineering work
- Good working English
- Full driving licence
What’s on Offer
- Basic salary of up to €48,000
- Annual performance bonus
- On‑call shift allowances
- International renewable energy exposure
- Structured business travel support
